For this week design inspiration I chose some art installations by Henrique Oliveira. Oliveira was born in Ourinhos, Brazil in 1973. He makes a living producing awesome art work for various shows. I have decided to share with you guys a couple pictures below of some of his previous work. I find inspiration in his work because unlike normal art that uses the display room as just a room that holds the work inside, his work actually uses the room to its full potential. His installations are huge and take up large amounts of the room, growing out of walls and traveling lengths of the floor. Industrialism in todays world is expanding so much and I enjoy seeing Oliveira's work because it is sort of the opposite. He uses pieces of wood that he finds in the street and creates pieces that are as if nature (wood) is taking back over the space that belongs to it. It is unlike any work that I have seen before and it gives me inspiration to think outside of the box.
